Description: Mr. Peter Gill, The Mill, Clare Island, will give a second rendition of his Elegy for Homo sapiens, a poetry suite in sixteen cantos (1000 lines) charting the forces of nature and man’s feeble efforts to harness them, in the Bard Room, GoExplore Hostel, Clare Island, from 8.00pm – 10.00pm (with interlude), on July 3rd, 2015. The lines may be of interest to watchers of waves and wind, to students of the biological, polite and medical sciences and to soothsayers of doom. There will be a voluntary attendance fee with proceeds going to the RNLI Achill Lifeboat.
